This Privacy Policy describes how BackTrader LLC ("BackTrader," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when users access the BackTrader platform.

Broker Integration Data
When users connect brokerage accounts to the Platform, BackTrader may access certain trading data through broker APIs.

BackTrader does not receive custody of funds.
We request and process only the access and permissions reasonably necessary to authenticate broker connections, identify linked accounts, retrieve account/trade data needed for platform features, and support user-authorized automation workflows.

- Interaction with the Platform

BackTrader collects trading activity data in order to provide analytics dashboards and platform features.

BackTrader implements reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect user information.

8. Data Retention
BackTrader retains user data only as long as necessary to operate the Platform and comply with legal obligations.
Account profile and billing records are retained while your account is active and for up to seven (7) years afterward where required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. Broker connection metadata and trading records are retained while your account is active and for up to three (3) years after account closure to support dispute handling, audits, and operational integrity. Application, security, and access logs are generally retained for up to twelve (12) months, except where longer retention is required for security investigations or legal obligations.
9. User Rights
Depending on jurisdiction, users may have rights to:
- Access their personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of personal data
- Opt out of certain data uses
