Quick Entry

Quick Entry is a lightweight note modal you can open from anywhere in the dashboard without leaving what you are doing. Write a note, give it a title, and save it as a new journal page in one step.

Opening Quick Entry

Quick Entry can be opened two ways: click the Quick Entry button in the sidebar, or press Cmd+K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) from anywhere in the dashboard.

The keyboard shortcut works on any page. It does not fire when your cursor is already inside a text input or editor.

Writing a Note

The modal has a title field at the top and a rich-text body below, identical to the Journal Pages editor.

The toolbar provides the same formatting options: Bold, Italic, Underline, text color, highlight, lists, task list, and text alignment.

You can paste or drop images directly into the body.

The title is optional. If you leave it blank the page will be saved as Untitled.

Saving

Click Save entry in the bottom-right of the modal to save the note as a new journal page.

After saving, the modal closes and the new page is available in Journal Pages.

If you close the modal without saving and there is unsaved content, a confirmation dialog appears. Click Discard to close without saving, or Keep editing to go back.

Open Quick Entry, write your note, and save it as a journal page.
